Im talking like Jill Scott, Joss Stone. Your lucky if youve got a good bassline and brass, and it dont exactly get you up and wanting to dance. The link with real soul is tenuously based on the vocal style, which isnt exactly the same either. Anyone?

While this is being bumped, im going to rant against Joss Stone again. Shes not a genius, shes not "able beyond her years", and she dont write her own songs at all. Shes just shit. And posh. And i was reading this interview, and she was all "people try to sex me up but thats not what im about" ie. Bollocks. You can bet if she was a 20 stone black girl she wouldnt earn a bean nowerdays. Nu-soul is shit, no rythym, nothing to dance to. Its not Soul and its fucking crap.
Christina Aguilera (sp?) is someone who pisses me off. I can't stand when she makes her way on to these "soul" tracks. It's awful to begin with, but when you throw her in the mix I feel the urge to vomit. Nothing triggers my gag reflex faster than her high pitched squealing. Ugh.
It's not singing. It's not enjoyable to listen to, at all. And it's certainly not soul.

Thats it... "nu soul" has no soul in it, its so languid and monotonous. How was this connection ever made? By deaf people? Its a million miles away from "Roadrunner".
