I for one do not think the smiths contributed anything, nor did korn in my opinion.

You could see it in a personal way or in an objective way. You don't have to like a band to say it has influenced many other bands, so contributed something to musical history...
And hey if you can't take a little critical response, just don't try starting a discussion...

What have these bands done that is so new or infuential? I'd say that Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park deserve to be on the list just as much as Incubus. (and I'm not saying that they should be on the list)

... also,.. if you go to allmusic and type in In these bands and see what comes up under "followers" here is what you get:

Quote:

Incubus: Colepitz Abside Absolve

No Doubt: The Troys Monique Powell Paige Jag Star Eden's Crush

Everclear: Cool for August The Androids

The Smiths: Happy Mondays James The Wedding Present Ivy Gene Magnetic Fields Marion Smoking Popes Long Fin Killie Geneva Starlet Reader/Gregson/Hewerdine Gary Jules La Buena Vida Håkan Hellström Matt Easton The Hidden Cameras Bedroom Walls The Malinks Jens Lekman

Korn: Aaron Lewis Vision of Disorder Saliva Boy Hits Car Serial Joe One Minute Silence Pimpadelic Endo Sideshow Chaos Zero Side Effect Stereomud No One Abside Subzid Tallman Trompo Depswa Five Pointe O

(I could add many more to The Smith's list, and as far as Korn, I despise them, but they are still quite influential)

exactly what I meant...

though I find a few Bush songs enjoyable but they're just ripping some earlier grunge bands off...

Right,.. but I didn't think this thread was about who's music is enjoyable, it was

Quote:
-Favorite frontman
-Contributed something new to their genre
-revolutionized the way ppl thing of music
musicians who have contributed
the first one is arbitrary, and I guess a lot of the bands from the original post that i was questioning could fit the 2nd one

I can take critical response from someone who knows what the hell they are talking about. You were wrong in saying it and I would appreciate it if you did not respond to any discussions started by me again.

If you start like this, you're gonna get into a lot of trouble with other people around here too. Orpheus did nothing wrong. It was constructive criticism.
Take it easy man, nothing to get angry about.

There are far more, less mature things he could have said about Incubus, instead he merely stated (correctly) that they have not exactly changed the face of music. Your vehemence in protecting them is misplaced, and annoying.

Damn fanboys.
