A new group from Toronto and Montréal, which names do you expect then?
What about Sophie from Godspeed en Silver Mt. Zion and Brendan from Broken Social Scene and Anthony from Shalabi Effect, and Charles from Do Make Say Think and Broken Social Scene.
I'm listening to a few tracks of their first album Westworld and it sounds great: beautiful, relaxing, sometimes instrumental, sometimes with vocals...
What's Shalabi Effect like, btw?

the tracks I downloaded are quite good, not as good as any GYBE! track, but beautiful, relaxing and nice to listen to...
I might get their album if I find a cheap copy...
