What happened to the all mighty RIAA?

I haven't heard much about the RIAA cracking down on file sharers lately. Did they give up? Are they still cracking down and busting asses? Someone tell me what's going on!

I believe there was a court ruling saying that the RIAA couldn't get subscriber info, IP addresses, etc from ISPs without a formal lawsuit. I think it goes something like this:

RIAA: "Can we have the internet usage records of so and so?"
ISP: "Do you have evidence that they're downloading illegaly?"
RIAA: "Well, not really."
ISP: "Sorry."

I could be wrong, but that's the impression I got of what's going on. Feel free to correct any erroneous assertions I've made.

I though they did another round of lawsuits just a little while ago where they just filed a case against an IP address or something and then later they will figure out who the people are?

I read that it was ruled by a judge that RIAA could subpoena ISPs for user names because it went against internet privacy laws. The judge said that only congress could make a law deciding whether or not they could subpoena the ISPs. 0.0 Either way, I'm glad.
