Hey you guys! I'm Anya, and I teach/ choreograph ballet and jazz at a studio in L.A. I was wondering if any of you know good lyrical songs to use as dance numbers? Don't know what I'm talking about? Haha, like Heather Nova or Kina. Something really sweet, melodic, or slow. I'd appreciate any help, thanks so much!
Kina! Cool as hell, I used to be like a dance nun so I definitely know what you're talking about. Some good lyrical tunes that I remember,
Heather Nova - Like Lovers Do
Kina - Give Me A Rose
Kina - Still Here
Lorna Vallings - Taste
Shirley Bassey - Hey Big Spender
Tori Amos - Precious Things
David Gray - This Years Love
Barbara Streisand - Queen Bee
Bjork - Hyper Ballad
Denise Faye - Cell Block Tango
Prince - Question of U
Counting Crows - Colorblind

Ahh I'm drawing a blank lol. I danced for 12 years, I should know this...if you need jazz, I recommend "Are You Gonna Go My Way" Lenny Kravitz and "You Really Got Me" Van Halen.
