mmale and ffemale

that's the title of datachi's new album coming out in late februrary.

I was very surprised to find myself digging the short samples provided in planet-mu label's website.

I was quite disappointed with this 1001001. it wasn't as enjoyable as wearealwayswellthankyou. but I could see how he progress and perfect his music style from 1001001 to wearealwayswellthankyou. the great thing about wearealwayswellthankyou is that he married silly little melodies with super fast beats, most of the songs anyway. and I really enjoy that a lot.

mmale and ffemale doesn't really have any silly melody with super fast beats. instead, the melodies are sad, melancholic and even depressing and creepy(specially the first track). and those melodies really compliments the beats well, they add a lot more emotions to the cold hard beats.

I am definitely looking forward to this album.

honestly, I only listened to 10110101 once. I should pop that in the CD player tonite when I am finishing my robotech model.

I saw him live once, he was opening for kid606, I actually liked his set better than kid606. I didn't know anything about him at that moment, so I don't know what he played for the set. but I went out and got his CD. quite impressive. the only complaint is that his set lacked visual elements, like most electronic artists.

mmale and ffemale is quite good, from what I've heard, only a handful of songs, but ace, nonetheless...

check out Ddamage's "Radio Ape", is sweet!

dude, I just did. I really like the first song, but gave up after the third one.

I am checking out speedranch/janskynoise's migrate. I don't know why they didn't release that under V/VM...

well, i just listened to the new datach'i...

it sounds a lot like early Venetian Snares...hardcore shit. It's ok, just wasn't my cup of tea right now...actually the last track sounds exactly like something Aaron Funk would do or has done...maybe a remix?

now that you mentioned, yes, the new datach'i does sound a bit like Printf. DUH on me.

I don't mind the similarity though.

by the way, do you know any other albums that sound like mmale and ffemale or Prinft?
