how so? if the amp is not powerful enough, the speakers are not gonna blow, right?

but then, you may be right since I don't know much about all this electronic stuff. it is a shame because I used to study that kind of stuff in highschool, like, watt, ohm, resistor, capacitor... but I forgot most of them already.

You can drive the speakers fine with most amps. Most stereo seperates have switchable impedance settings on the back, and the 6 ohm speakers should be ok at either 4 or 8 ohm settings (just don't push them too hard at 4!)

but does it still hold true with the newer surround sounds amps? then, I don't know if captain is looking for a stereo amp or a surround sound amp.

You should still be ok. As long as you aren't driving the speakers at a ridiculously low setting (2 ohms would prolly just vapourise them if you turned the amp up loud!!) you'll be fine.

So the lower the ohm the more power to the speakers?

yeah, but lower the ohm also gives too much power to your speakers and that would increase the risk of blowing them
