The Payback (1974)

I've heard that James Brown's 'The Payback' from 1974 is meant to be very good. Who has heard it and what do you think of it?

The Payback is a nice album, nice track. I'm more of a fan of Bobby Byrd though. He makes James Brown look like a hollering idiot.

Never heard the album, but the tune itself is a stone cold classic!

I read somewhere that it was meant to sound like the musaical style of M. Jackson's 'You Rock My World'. Is this correct? Read this in a review. That is one of my favourite songs so I would like to hear the single and album that may have influenced it's sound. I have a Greatest Hits CD of 20 songs of the Godfather and it is excellent.

This is the internet review I read,
"Likewise, the most ear-catching moments of the "comeback" single "You Rock My World" come with Chris Tucker's jivey introduction. Despite a debt to "Payback"-era James Brown, "Rock" floats away like steam midway through."

Does anyone know the connections between the two pieces musically, as this is a very interesting style of sound.

I LOVE that song. Seriously it screams walk down the street like you're the shit and nothing can touch you. Perfect for the car as well I add. Plus, It's on lock stock's soundtrack so that's always good.
