Build Your Own Avant-Garde/Experimental Supergroup

I think that the Avant-Garde incarnation of this thread will reveal itself as the best version yet, by simple virtue of the fact that in the Avant-Garde forum, we can literally group together as many musicans as we want that play in as many different styles as humanly possible and the resulting music (if it actually happened) would more than likely be considered "Avant-Garde".

So to any interested parties, feel free to make your dream experimental supergroup...also, see if you're able to guess as to what the resulting music would sound like!

I'll post mine once I've gotten a full night's sleep...

I thought that I'd get more of a response to this thread -- you could throw any musician into the mix and it would probably work.

Oh well, I tried -- I'll have to get around to posting my own selections, maybe that will get the ball rolling...

AMM in all it's incarnations covers the expermental. My post 60's jazz supergroup would cover the avant here as well.

the avant super group. Now the first avant-garde musician would be Louis Armstrong.

Coltrane - tenor
Anthony Braxton - alto
Steve Lacy - soprano
Mats Gustafsson - baritone
Eric Dolphy - bass clarinet/flute
Toshinori Kondo - trumpet
George Lewis - trombone
Cecil Taylor - piano
Andrew Cyrille - drums
Barry Guy - bass
Derek Bailey - guitar

If I had to choose a vocalist it would be Lauren Newton.
