actually once in ATL I was switching around stations while in the car. and on a 30min drive I heard Hey ya! 3 times. and Jay Z's change clothes 3 times as well. I think three seperate stations played them both in that span. at least I hope it wasn't just one station.

for all the new radiostations ATL has gotten since I left, it seems like they all play the same thing.

I enjoyed the song at first, just for fun and messin' around while driving around, but it got bad when it was played on our local rock/alternative/metal/punk station... 91.3 The Zone. I was choked to say the least. And they still play it constantly... I just don't get it!

Another song they play into the ground is that one by Beyonce where she goes, "Baby boy, your so fine..." or something like that. Horrible song.

To be honest, you've got to ask yourself what else would they play? The record industry is a load of bol****s at the moment, and all they want to promote is what the brainwashed teenagers are going to go out and buy.

This leaves the radio stations in a difficult position, because they have to play each track a certain number of times per day (not many dj's get to choose their playlist any more, at least not here) I reckon we should all get together and force these people to start playing a broader range of music to the public, be it unsigned bands, independent bands or foreign artists, because it's getting to the point where you can listen to a song on one station, change the channel, listen to it again, change back and listen again!!! What a Joke!!!!
Rant over............

well aren't alot of places owned by big corps who decide what the playlist is going to be? So even if the DJ thinks playing the same 25 songs all day everyday is silly there's not much he can do.
what you need to do is support your local indie radio station (if you have one) and hopefully that one is better. either that or spring for that satalite radio. I wonder if that's any good...

I think, from my point of view anyway, the idea of having maybe one or two primetime programmes dedicated to chart music is a good idea. When do the majority of people listen to the radio anyway? All we've got here is the BBC and whatever local stations are around (they're all the same), and nobody plays anything interesting anymore, just top 40 tripe. It'd be nice to turn the radio on one day and hear somehing I had'nt heard before........
