1. too dark park
it is my all time favorite. I listen to that album more often than any other albums from skinny puppy. and that's the best driving music for a road trip, at least for me and my wife. I hated it when I first got this album and sold it back to the CD store. and then I heard it again from my friend's stereo and thought "this is good". I don't know why I didnt like it at first. either way, it is my favorite now.

2. Bite and remission
that's the first album I got from skinny puppy. and I specially love that song Brap oh yeah! I even did a video for my video class in college.

3. Mind the perpectual intercourse
"Gods gift maggot! gods gift maggot!" need I say more?

4. Rabies
I would have like this one better if Al. Jourgenson didn't involve himself so much in this album. it is definitely a bastard son of skinny puppy and ministry, sorta. this is my wife's favorite album from skinny puppy.

5. Last Right
Killing game is the first video I saw from skinny puppy, and it was played on mtv years ago. the video itself was kinda okay, not terrible impressed by it. but I like a lot of intrumental songs on this album.

6. Aint it Dead yet?
I used to have this on a cassette and listen to it in my car all the time. my wife has the CD somewhere.

7. Back and forth series 2
my favorite song on this album is My Voice sounds like Shit. that describes my voice perfectly.

8. VIVIsectVI
this album got great titles for tracks, like dog shit, VX gas attack, human disease(skumm), yes he ran, etc. but this album is quite uneven. I listen to it sometimes, but not as often as other albums.

a little side story related to skinny puppy, my wife and I both like skinny puppy, one time before we went steady, we were listening to skinny puppy really loud in a rental car. and she was the first girl ever to rock out with skinny puppy. I used to get yelled at for playing their music in a car by some girls. so at that point, I knew she was the one.

Oops, you got the lame bastard release where they merged Bites and Remission into one album. What a load of crap!! They left out a bunch of tracks from each album to make it all fit onto one slab of plastic. You're missing great stuff. Here's what you're missing:

"Incision" from Remission (this is seriously one of the BEST skinny puppy songs out there)
"Manwhole" from Remission (some overlap w/ the "Ice Breaker" track from Bites)
"Church" from Bites (cool instrumental track, nice movie sample)
"Tomorrow" from Bites (decent instrumental track)
"Dead Doll" from Bites (I love this freakin' song. it's bizarre as hell)
"Love" from Bites (pretty similar to the one on Mind)
"Falling" from Bites (sinister and bizarre, love it)
"The Centre Bullet" from Bites (atmospheric, "pretty")
"One Day" from Bites (more atmospheric than Centre Bullet, relaxing even)

Also, the two "Ice Breaker" tracks are a little different on each release, so you're only getting one of them on the Bites/Remission release.

As I've said, these are my two favorite Skinny Puppy albums. They should never have been chopped up and bastardized like this. I don't understand the point. If I were you, I'd get rid of the bastard album and buy the two proper albums. But you're getting advice from a guy who thinks these are the two best albums ever, so take it with a grain of salt I suppose...

Hey, what's up?

I just saw this post and thought I should let you know that Skinny Puppy are definately back together and recording a new album. From the way it looks it should be out sometime this coming spring with a tour to follow.

www.litany.net is a great source of SP news.

Yeah, it looks like you're right about that album. It's coming out on SPV in April 2004. Cool! Dreams do come true. I'm actually more excited about the potential tour than the album, but hey I'll take them both. Thanks asjbfoo.

Desolated, yeah, I'm not sure what's wrong w/ me.

Has anyone heard the track "Optimissed" by SP from the movie "Underworld"? I don't know if it's made by them or a remix of theirs... I hope it's not their work cause I didn't like it at all compared to their older work.

Not until you just mentioned it. I just downloaded it off Soulseek. It's definitely an original song, not a remix. This is very different from old Skinny Puppy, and you're right, compared to their older work it's crap. It sounds like a club track. I don't hate it or anything - if I were at a club and this came on I'd probably get up and dance - but I hope this isn't the direction they're heading in on their next album. Maybe it's just a side experiment.

damn, a new skinny puppy album. I am not gonna expect too much from it. I am afraid that I will be disappointed.

at the mean time, I am also downloading that Optimissed track.
