And they're saying this was an accident...I don't think so. But I do think that MTV and the two parties involved in this particular act of totally irresponsible sleaze have gone entirely too far this time. It's one thing to have stuff like this on MTV. People know what they're in for there. But the Super Bowl is supposed to be safe for families who care about the example being set for their children. This should not go undealt with.

I guess when you don't have confidence that your music will sell itself you do these things like flash your boob or have a woman kissing another woman on stage.

Not that I didn't enjoy seeing these things, but I don't own a single album by any of the artists involved and nothing I saw would make me want to.

BTW, thanks for posting the picture. Went by way too fast for me to get a good look.

wow... that was ridiculously unnecessary. i enjoy janet's music and she is an unbelievably talented artist. i expected a better and less obscene performance from her.

this year's half-time show has to be one of the worst shows i've ever seen. i was highly disappointed... but at least the pats won. **superbowl mvp: tom brady**

I agree with the good Reverend, that was just a bit much for the Super Bowl. On MTV that's one thing but the when it's the Super Bowl you know there are kids watching and you know no one expects that kind of behavior.

And if you believe it was an accident, well, I have a bridge or two to sell you.

Ditto. Kids were watching. Unnecessary. UNnecessary, if that is even how you spell it.

Being normally a free-speech-and-expression advocate, I hate to have to say that I approve of the FCC investigation and threat of fines that is now being pursued (according to latest news reports).

I fear that Justin and Janet's little joke may have serious ramifications for 1st Amendment rights of artists, musicians, and the media in general over the coming months and even years. It's a free country, but with freedom comes responsibility. I think that's going to be THE new hot issue in the media for a while after this fiasco.
