I heard a lot about him... I guess he's quite good, but it's not the kind of music I want to listen to a lot, right now...

yeah a v.good album. saw quite alot of live sessions on VH1 of him. volcano, blowers daughter, and cheers darlin' are my highlights. and the hidden version of silent night on track 10 is emotional to say the least!

he's actually from ireland, i think.
i don't know, his lyrics don't do TOO much for me anymore, and sometimes he seems a little too heartfelt, like it's contrived, but i dig acoustic guitars and his girlfriend has a lovely voice.
i would buy the album if i saw it in the bargain bin at the local record store (or, if my town had a local record store), but i don't think i would pay full price. i know it's not right but i can't help but comparing him to the likes of nick drake and/or elliott smith, and though damien rice is sweet and listenable, he's just not remarkable in my point of view.
having said that, volcano would probably be my favourite track.

Yup he's irish, I can't wait to get his album. I think he's fantastic and so sweet. I love the sound of him and that other lady singing together.
