Miyavi. Only kid in the world that still has a smile on his face.
Chris Cornell. Creative as hell allows.
Chino Moreno. I was practically spawned from his songs. Great stuff.
Kyo of Dir en Grey. He's getting older each and every day, but his earlier stuff was godly.

Well, a lot of these people never had a band, so how are we to include band names in that case?

Nice pick. I always find that when people talk about great singer/songwriters, Neil Young is not always remembered.

My Favourite is Prince, written sooooo many songs, and many of them (I mean in the 100's if not 1000's) haven't been published. Very Very Talented man.

Jeff Buckley for me. His death was 100 times the tragedy of John Lennon and 1000 times that of Kurt Cobain. (musically speaking, obviously i never knew any of them and im sure many people cried for each)

He was such a brilliant songwriter, in a league of his own.

Billy Corgan wrote some good'uns too

Zack De La Rocha wrote some great lyrics although most people wouldnt consider him a great songwriter.
i love the fact that Rage Against The Machine were anti-family and pro-terrorist!

another one, Bono. juste listenin to Pop a bit ago. that album is so underrated. the lyrics on that album some of his best:

-
lookin' for to save my- save my soul/lookin' in the places where no flowers grow/lookin for to fill that GOD shaped hole...

mother, am istill your son?/you know, iwaited so long to hear you say so/mother, you left and made me someone/now i'm still a child but no one tells me no....

intransigence is all around... military still in town/armour plated suits and ties... daddy juste won't say goodbye/referee won't blow the whistle, God is good but will HE listen?/i'm nearly great but there's something i'm missing ileft in the duty free/though you never really belonged to me....

the more you take the less you feel/the less you know the more you believe/the more you hav the more it takes today/YOU GOT TO GIVE IT AWAY!

you wanted to get somewhere so badly you had to lose yourself along the way/you change a name but thats okay... it's necessary/and what you leave behind you don't miss anyway....

then will there be no time of sorrow?/then will there ne no time for pain?/then will there be no time of sorrow?/then will there be no time for shame?

september...streets capsizing... spilling over, down the drain/... shards of glass splinters like rain- but you could only feel your own pain.../october... talking getting nowhere... november... december... remember?/ are we juste staring again?!
