Tangerine Dream vs. Kraftwerk

Who would you considermore influential? (Or better overall, whichever.) Both groups have proven immensely influential all across the musical spectrum...but which group do you feel comes out on top?

I personally like Kraftwerk better. I haven't heard enough Tangerine Dream though. the dream remix pretty much turned me off.

seba, you will have to check it out. I was being skeptical at first when I saw the CD from Senor Coconut. and I read some reviews and bought it. I wasn't disappointed.

i don't know why you compare them against eachother.

they have nothing in common other than the use of synthetizers, their music is different their artistic approach is different.

I'm not comparing them so much as seeing what different opinions people have on each artist and which group people think has had more of an effect on music overall..there have been enough of these type of threads in the rock section, so I felt like putting a few in some others just to see if I could get a response.

And they aren't as dissimilar as you think as they were both recording at around the same time, from the same area, playing music that -- while quite different -- had a massive impact on the development of electronic music. That said, I don't see why we shouldn't discuss who has proven more influential over the years...
