Professional musicians use ProTools and Cubase. Unfortunately, Sound Forge is NOT considered as a professional tool (this is my favourite one)... Fruity Loops is considered as a young children tool.
But what do you want to do ? Do you want to be considered as a professional or do you want to do what you really like?

Seems like Fruity Loops Studio is not very well considered but I think it's a great tool for making drum loops and synth lines, and then using them for the mixing with the rest of audio tracks or whatever in programs like Cubase or Cakewalk Sonar ( the one I prefer personally ). The sound could be better but I think it's not very far away from other software considered more "professional", and the mixer/effects is rather good. I haven't tried Reason but i want to, does anyone use it here ?

I use Reason, and I can highly recommend it, that is of course if you are willing to be considered an amateur on this forum. But in the end, who really cares about them.

Fruityloops is a lot more reputable than you might think.

Reason is a really great program, as it's really easy to use and has a lot of great sounds. I love it. It's only real problem is a lack of any real editing ability, and a loss in sound quality to reduce computer strain, but there are tricks that improve the sound quality tenfold, up to the level of anything else.

For sure, me and alt have already discussed this somewhere... give me Cubase anyday. Although, I am known to delve in the dark arts of FL4 Studio every now and then... but never its less powerful predecessors.

I've finally been working a bit on Reason and find it really really good .. where can I find more info on these kinds of 'tricks' for the sound quality ?
