err close he writes songs, he used them in singing battles on the internet, a producer heard it and offered him a record label...but he rejected becoz then he would have to fly to LA and leave.
I completely understand what Blue_Fire221 is saying...studio costs are horrendous, and that's the tip of the iceburg. And fame is the pits. I've been close enough to a few moderately famous people (and at least one very famous person) to know. Unless it's a price you completely understand and are willing to pay, you don't want to be famous.
