CD burning problem...

I'm a dj in my downtime and i've burned quite a few cd's on my new cpu. The problem is that they wont read on some cd turntables, mostly at clubs that have some older gear. And my girl has burned music and when i play her burnt discs the cd turntables have never had a problem reading them. I even have some old burnt cd's that work, but not any of the new ones i've burned off this new computer. My question really is, am i buying the right cd's or is my program (Real One) that i'm using not working properly?

Should i turn the burn time down, like x4? Maybe that will help or should i buy a new cd burner program? Because the one i'm using is what came with the computer. Thats what i'm thinking it is. Any ideas anyone or has this ever happened to someone before? Thanks in advance.

Shit, mate, how'd you afford Cd turntables?!?!

Anyway, slow and steady wins the race, burn at 1x if you can, and use premium quality CD's. It suprises me that your CD tables wont read them... they're sposed to be top notch little gadgets. :S

Oh no...dont get me wrong. Maybe i didn't make it clear in my first post, but the cd turntables dont have any problems playing my new cd's. But when i play at clubs that dont have the new turntables, just the old...lift up the little cd door, stick the cd in, drop the cd door and play the tracks.

But i still think what your telling me is good advice, my cpu burns ish at x32...so i should slow it down.

Or i could stop being lazy and bring my own cd turntables to the club. Thats a thought....

And i can afford em, cause i'm in the military...we dont have to pay for food, a place to sleep, so i have money to burn sometimes. On top of making 200-400 dollars a night at a few clubs over here in Japan.

Good stuff DJ Andre! The military! I was in the rezzies here in oz for a while, but our unit closed down. Good tax free pay, and a lot of good times.

Anyway....

Nothings wrong with your CPU mate, some older CD players just wont play burned CD's, simple as that. There's no way around it...

... I think lugging your CD turntables to gigs is the only way, mate. Be thankful your not an old school DJ, and have to lug two decks and a mixer to gigs, and a swag of bloody records!!

I am thankful man...i couldn't see myself doing it. Some DJ's bring so many records to the club and dont play half of them. But yeah, i see what your saying...i dont mind bringing my own since i play at that club frequently.

DJ's who dont really have a set planned out will carry a bigger load. This fine, by all means, but I personally lay down a perfect set at home before taking it to clubs. Although, DJ's do need to be flexible, depending on the venue (and therefore crowd)... its sometimes hard to find a trade off.

Frog is right about older machines not playing burnt cds. They can't read the file extensions. The newer equipment can!
