The Next Movement

there have been various movements or advances in the history of rap. Such as using sampling, turntablism, mixing in other styles of music(jazz and rock). My question is, what do you think the next advent could be? or maybe an old one I missed.

My guess is a wider use of live instumentation. The prime example being The Roots. Drums, upright bass, guitar, ect. there are like 6 guys I'm not sure what they all play but you get the idea.

The Roots are good and get a lot of respect. But their respect doesn't get them as much airplay as they deserve. I don't think the Roots sound will get much bigger than it is now. But that doesn't mean that live insturmentation won't be the next big thing, it doesn't have to sound exactly like the Roots.

I'm not sure if I'm going to agree with that. I think the popularity of live insturmentation in rap will always be relatively the same. But as far as the next big thing? Not really sure. Rappers seem to love playing around with beats, but that can only go so far. So I'm not really sure, gonna have to think a little on this one.
