If you want some good Mags try 'elemental' it's chuck d's, Complex is good (not all hip hop some 'urban' but still good). I used to be able to find elemental @ my local borders but they don't carry it anymore, so I just subscribed. it's worth it.

A good friend of mine owns a club here in Michigan, I usually hear shit there. Check out Hynoptize Minds, home to Project Pat and Three 6 Mafia. And toss that damn cd.

Ludacris could take down Project Pat in two seconds lyrically.

No way in hell dude. His beats have always been pretty dope, I'll give him that. But his flow and lyrics now are probably close to being above average mainstream rapper. That shit he made on the 2 fast 2 furious soundtrack? And Stand Up? Half ass tunes. You can't even compare Pat's "Smack Down" or Three 6 Mafia's "Body Bags, Pt. 2" to any of the shit Ludacris produces.

i'm not sure who project pat is, but ludacris is pretty weak as compared to a lot of other stuff. and yes, that 2 fast 2 furious track is one of the worst i've heard in a while.

Luda's just fun music, there's no real substance but its nice to dance or party to. Do you darlings think atmosphere and aesop rock are really underground? Word on the upscale streets around here is that slug totally played icky salesman and promoted his new cd on mtv and both had videos played on there.

It is true and it did surprise me too. When I first saw 'trying to find a balance' on MTV2 i was shocked. Only for it to be followed up by an appeanence on Loveline & Jimmie Kimmel. So the morel of the story is that you are correct Atmosphere isn't quite underground (anymore).... leaning more towards 'independent'.

yeah, i wouldn't classify atmosphere and aesop as underground anymore but they're nowhere near mainstream.
you know what the best way to find sick music is? go on kazaa or whatever music sharing program you have and download something that you've heard before thats an amazing song that not too many ppl have. then you go "find more from the same user" and go through their music library, download a bunch of shit you've never heard before. thats how i get most of my music, and word of mouth.
