Any Shitty Noise?
I don't know the Avant-Experi-Noisish genre like the back of my hand yet, but in every other genre there are artists who just don't cut it, as I think we know.
But are there any noise/experimental artists who get laughed at by their own?
I don't mean people ignoring Merzbow when he plays an indie festival (I heard it happened), or the mainstream looking down their noses, but within the genre itself, are there any noise/experimental Creeds?

I can't think of any off the top of my head (as I don't really listen to stuff that I don't like), but I'm sure there are plenty of shitty noise artists -- if anything it'd be someone creating just noise...rather than noise music (and yes, there's a difference) -- noise for the sake of making noise without working those delicate territories of emotional resonance, intensity, atmosphere, and shifting dynamics...things of that sort. There's a real compositional beauty to a well-sculpted noise piece, but it's a completely different experience from say, listening to the static of a radio...

I agree, not many people who dislike this stuff can fathom how hard it is to make, and make well.

This thread inspired me to try to make some industrial / noise (stuck it in promotion) and it's definately some "shitty noise"...so to answer your initial question, yes, there is shitty noise.

noise acts that are often ridiculed by other noise acts include, but are not limited to:
Cock E.S.P.
Runzelstirn and Gurglestock
Smell and Quim
but it's all relative what's good and what's bad to me...
