I was looking for some good suggestions on what opera songs to download.

Thanks.

Operas are one kind of music I find it very very difficult to get into.

Perhaps it arrises from my absolute hate for Wagner.

We all know Wagner caused World War II and Hitler.

Read about this theory here

http://www.lafolia.com/archive/glasg...204wagner.html

(ps. I'm only joking, I don't think this theory could be totally correct, but still I hate Wagner no less.

Giacomo Puccini's "La Boheme" and "Madam Butterfly" are highly regarded pieces, and also Mozart's "Don Giovanni" and "Figaro". Also, you might want to try George Handel's massive oratorio "Messiah", and also his large collection of operas.

Just a suggestion or two.

Take a look at Sarah Brightman she is one of the best!!!!

ask me and I will point some songs out.

But for starters, check out "Eden" by sarah brightman. That song is not opera but she does sing some.

I always hated opera, every Sunday after dinner my parents used to listen to an opera program on the radio, so after having finished our meal me and my brothers always hurried to get out of the room and I still can't hear it... the voices are so... unnatural, so over the top, so irritating... sorry but I really can't say anything positive about it... another thing: I like theater and I like music, but I don't want the two mixed together...

One of the best operas ever written:

Carmina Burana - Carl Orff

There are others but this is the who's who of opera. My favorite would be Don Giovanni followed by Wagner's - Ring Cycle. Wagner hated Jews but if we avoided all the scum of humanity that would leave very little of any of the Arts to enjoy.

Mozart

Don Giovanni
Le nozze di Figaro
Cosi fan tutte

Wagner

The Ring Cycle
Tristan und Isolde
Der fliegende Hollander
Parsifal
Das Rheingold

Puccini

La Boheme
Madama Butterfly
Tosca

Verdi

Aida
Rigoletto
La Traviata

Rossini - Il barbiere di Siviglia

Bizet - Carmen
