Arrow Avant-Garde Essentials

This is essentially a compiled list of Avant-Garde/Experimental albums that you feel should be heard by everyone (Poor Equinox, everyone rips off his thread ideas.) I'll list a few albums to start off, but would like everyone else to contribute their own choices before I throw out everything I've got.

Bob Ostertag - Say No More
Glenn Branca - Symphonies No. 1-9
Julie Tippetts - Shadow Puppeteer
Merzbow - 1930
Moondog - Moondog
Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante
Naked City - Torture Garden
Painkiller - Guts of a Virgin/Buried Secrets
The Residents - Eskimo
The Residents - Commercial Album
The Residents - God In Three Persons
The Residents - Duck Stab
The Residents - Mark Of The Mole
The Residents - Not Available
Ruins - Live @ Kitchijoji Mandala II

Yeah, well it's also a fantastic album! Avant-Garde Jazz fused w/ Grindcore...John Zorn on sax, Bill Laswell on bass and Mick Harris on drums...amazing stuff.

it's not as out there as your list but i think primus' - sailing the seas of cheese should be on here as the type of album that would ease the transition for a listener between mainstream and experimental rock...

and i totally agree on disco volante... it is the most experimental mr. bungle... but it also happens to be my least favorite of the bunch...
