I have nothing but good things to say about soul seek... except that it gives people the option to not share there files...

I used to use direct connect, but you can't really search for files on that. Most hubs on direct connect ban people for not sharing files.

I use kazaa lite whenever im trying to find more common/popular music...

My handle on soulseek is Rickets if anyones interested... Ive got about 35gb of every kind of music... except country and techno...

and a handful of films.

I like WinMX Ive tried soul seek many times... I think WinMX is just a little more simplified... and if you know how to use it well, you can tweak it and use OpenNap networks where you can virtually download any song...

Dont get me wrong im sure soul seek is a great program, but pesonally I find WinMX better, for my connection anyways...

Here is my album strategy.

#01 open k-lite
#02 audio < advanced search
#03 artist|band name
#04 album name
#05 bitrate 192 (its just what i like to get music at)
#06 i usually let it sit for a good, 5 mins i dont know. sometimes i'll let it search before bed, wake up, and bam have every song with MULTIPLE sources.
#07 not find shit, and just go to irc for full albums

Yeah same here, Orpheus. But I usually do find what I am looking for in time, often takes months but I usually do eventually (the wishlist is a beautiful thing)... If I can't find it on slsk 99% of the time I wont find it anywhere else.

See what we need is another audiogalaxy clone. That network was pure gold. As it logged everything the users shared, so even if they wheren't online, you'd still find what they have. That is what we need.

it was a pain in the ass when you wouldnt let you download copyrighted files, and then youd haev to go through lists and find one that someone screwed the name up on
