No, it wasn't very popular.
Personally, I only liked a few songs on it, Like A Duck being my favorite.

Sorry to up an old thread but had too for Eels and I fucking love em, 'Mr E' is a great songwriter, if you like Eels check out Mr E's two solo albums under that name A Man Called E and Broken Toy Shop, just brilliant!!!

I like them just as much, one is really short tho, like only half hour, goes in no time, but some really nice songs on both.
Have you got/heard new album? I haven't had chance yet properly.

yeah the new album is great. he might have ditched some of the instrumentals and all in all it's a bit long (I'm not a big fan of double cd's), but it features some of his best songs ever... it really is on the same level as Electro-Shock Blues and Daisies of the Galaxy

Electro Shock Blues is one of my favs, not too sure about Daisies of the Galaxy being up there tho(Tho the thing under my name is from that album  )...Looking foward to hearing the new album in full.

it's maybe not as good as Electro-Shock Blues but it's not far off, I think... and it's more or less the same with the new album...
