well my local indie music store has a bunch of his stuff, but I'm not sure what would be a good album to start with. "god loves ugly" is the latest one right?

Slug is the rapper, Ant is the producer...

ummm....

slug is the rapper, ant is his producer, deejay bird is their dj, atmosphere is the group. overcast is awesome, lucy ford, which noone mentioned, is also awesome. if anyone can find it, listen to sad clown/ bad dub II it's old stuff, but real good. i've seen them a couple times (once in boston, once in NYC) brother ali runs with the crew as well (big fat albino white guy) he's just plain sick. his album is shadows on the sun. i guess that's enough for now. let me know if anyone wants to know more.

big up to rhymesayers!!!

yeah i'd give props to rhyme sayers too.. except that Slug is now signed w/ the more punk, more mainstream Epitaph label.. along with fellow mc sage francis..

Atmosphere's newest album is seven travels.. its alright.. i like god loves ugly, lucy ford, and overcast better though..

I dont even really consider slug a "rapper". I simply consider Slug an amazing lyricist.. he is a very talented writer and is passionate about it..

Like Tyler said before me.. If u like Atmoshere.. the def. check out Brother Ali.. I personally think he's better live than Slug-o is...

i fukin love atmosphere, its just so different from other hip hop...even sage francis who i love too, an are both considered emo-rap sound completely different. i haven heard all of seven's travels but im not sure it has the punch that the other albums did, based on the songs i have heard. anybody else find it really bizarre seeing slug all over mainstream music magazines? it weirds me out. kinda glad hes getting commercial success tho. hes done his time in the underground and has proved himself as a real talent, so now hes earned the fame and hopefully fortune. as long as he stays true to what he does best ill be happy

Slug is probly just 'using' (not in a bad way) epitaph to get the distribution, promotion, and advertisement that he couln't get on his own or with just the rhymesayers. That's my guess

It's good to see a couple cats atleast know what they're talkin about (most people on the second page of this thread)...Big Ups to Rhymesayers too...but the whole Epitaph deal is just distribution, nothin more to my knowledge...All of Slugs albums are dope, and ant's production is incredible IMO...couple stand out tracks for cats that wanted to learn more about this dude...check:

Always Coming Back Home To You
National Disgrace
Don't Ever Fucking Question That
Between the Lines
If I was Santa Claus
Clay
Multiples
Woman w/ Tatooed Hands

lot's more but that's a good start IMO...

...anybody know about the sage/sluf album?

one Love
