Loren Mazzacane Connors

Great Avant-Garde guitarist. Deals mostly with acoustic style, yet lately has went to an electric guitar. Anyone else know of him? "Airs" is a good album, something I highly recommend.

Yes I know lots about Loren Mazzacane Conners.

His move towards electric guitar came about when he first discovered that he had Parkinson's disease

Some of my favourite LMC albums are:

Portait of a Soul
Moonyean
Lullaby
Haino & MazzaCane

I bought Airs today.

I like the photograph of the cat on the back cover.

well, what do you think about the music, in general, is it up to par?

I've actually been listening to Connors myself, lately. From what I've heard, his work borders on new age instrumental guitar, but seems much more heartfelt than most musicians who work in that vein (and also much more minimal). I found a used copy of Moonyean and am enjoying it quite a bit...very relaxing.

I'd say it's definitely "up-to-par", it's so delicate and beautiful that I don't think I could really bring myself to criticize it!

glad this thread has been brought up again. I really enjoy his work on acoustic guitar rather than electric guitar.

So far I've only heard his electric works...they seem very atmospheric and dreamy for being so incredibly minimal...when listening I really don't wish for more instrumentation at all...seems as if he's working the negative space of silence more than the notes themselves, which can be a very good thing.
