You don't even need talent! You basically go to some singing competition, hope someone sees you, and you are on your way to stardom. You don't write your own songs; people do that for you. You don't decide what to wear; people pre-arrange it for you. Your "style" is churned out by the factory presses! You sing some songs, wait for the underlings to put together a craptastic album, perform live at some tv shows, and you're done! I have not seen ONE alternative band, not ONE! I hear you. I myself am from hongkong and most of their pop music really sucks big time.
alternative band... well, you have to really dig deep in the ground and most of the time, they don't even have their own style, they just borrow from western music.
have you heard this group from hongkong called Lazy mother ****as? I think they are pretty funny. too bad that their musical styles are totally borrowed from beastie boys, limp bizkit...
