All manufactured bands suck. From my point of view they should never have gotten a record deal. From a record company's point of view though...

I can't stand Madonna. She wasn't that bad until she started wearing fox carcasses and talking in a fake English accent. I also think Westlife suck. I mean, if teen girls are listening to this kind of boring cliff richard alike nonsense, then what on earth will they be listening to when they are 65?!? Also Im totally sick up to the eyes of Gareth Gates. I mean, he came second! I think its fair to say I don't really like any pop music.

You guys don't know manufactured until you've gone to Hong Kong. To become a star, all you really need are A)Looks, and B)Refer to A.

You don't even need talent! You basically go to some singing competition, hope someone sees you, and you are on your way to stardom. You don't write your own songs; people do that for you. You don't decide what to wear; people pre-arrange it for you. Your "style" is churned out by the factory presses! You sing some songs, wait for the underlings to put together a craptastic album, perform live at some tv shows, and you're done! I have not seen ONE alternative band, not ONE! It's all POP, all freaking day long!

*urge to kill ... rising...*

Worst band in Pop or worst bad forever? I'll stick to my previous statement, Eiffle 65. I could list a few others. I don't like Aqua, they annoy me. No Doubt, although some of their songs are catchy, equal pop. Blink 182 is way high on that list. So many to name, such low character limitations.

Jesus. What pisses ME off (this could be completely off topic) is when they have star searches, or...those lil boiband shows. Or those elimation processe's just to find somebody good looking who can sing. The bands that actually came up with songs are their own, who play their OWN music have to work a hell of a lot harder than all these lil punk ass kids who dont even know how to write a song. The music buisness is degrating...

not really referring to one band either: what pisses me off most are all these "manufactured bands" and other little no-use singers that cover good music and take the juice out of it. One of my favourites here: Britney with "I love rock and roll" - this is taking the piss so badly...
Don't get me wrong - I like covers, but the song has to add something to the orignial, be seriously different or at least be an "honest" tribute.

the biggest issue i'm seeing is the manufactured pop stars referring to themselves as artists and musicians... they are ENTERTAINERS... and they do a great job of it... elvis never wrote a song... neither did sinatra... as sick as this sounds justin timberlake is pretty much the frank sinatra of a new generation...

and in regards to the star search style tv shows... can you think of a better way to spends marketing money when your target audience is 12-16? i've said it before and i'll say it again... the music industry is a BUSINESS... they care about making a profit FIRST... making good music SECOND...
