Good, smooth rap

I'm looking for some good smooth rap CD's.

I don't like most of the rap I hear, such as 50 cent, tupac, eminem, etc.

I am looking for less gangsta, more smooth songs with good beats and less yelling.

I like some of the songs on The Black Album if that helps at all, but most of the rap CD's I've bought lately have seemed to be the same old thing. Any help?

so you want something kinda laid back and chill.

listen to The Roots album "do you want more". definitly some laid back stuff on that. it's a fairly jazzy album. that would be my first recomendation. Early outkast stuff is also good. "southernplayalistic.." is a fairly laid back album.

Jurrasic 5 'Quality Control' and Beastie Boys 'Pauls Boutique' are also good albums that are definitly not gangsta-ish.

OK thanks a lot man. I got De La Sol's first CD today and it is pretty damn good. Chill, yet kinda crazy. I heard that their newer stuff isn't as crazy so I'll have to check some of that out, either way they seem like an awsome group.

I hear good things about The Roots, so I might have to pick that up.

I have one beastie boys cd, which I do not like at all, I think it is Paul's Botique but not sure.

I don't really like the new outkast CD, but hear good things about Skanktonia, or whatever it is. Anyway thanks for the advice.

I'm good for now. Think I'm going to get a newer De La Sol next.
