pooka is indeed a fantastic album. there's another collaborative disc that came out a while ago with members of jaga jazzist and another group called motorpsycho. they're billed as 'motorpsycho and the jaga jazzist horns'. they released an EP called 'in the fishtank' it's really good stuff, they've got a top notch cover of the art ensemble of chicago's 'theme de yoyo' to finish off the whole thing too.

as for my favorite JJ track i have to go with 'real racecars have doors'. but i haven't heard the new album yet either.

Motorpsycho is an ace Norwegian rock band and the In the Fishtank series has featured collaborations between Low & the Dirty Three, Sonic Youth & I.CP. & the Ex, The Black Heart Procession & Solbakken and others before... I think the idea comes from Dutch or German label...

not that I've heard much of these ep's, only heard about...

both are good albums and Lars' brother Martin came out with a solo ep called 'skull' on the same label. It's a bit more experimental/idm'ish. Not bad.

I'm really liking the new stuff, it's even more my kind of thing than the previous album...

I find it a bit annoying and also funny that the cover has sticker with amongst others The Mars Volta saying that this is their new favourite band... even though I like TMV (at least the first album)... mmm I think it's my snobby indie side who thinks that they're getting a bit too much attention and praise

I agree with you there.

I thought it was funny, maybe inappropriate is a better word. TMV did release some great stuff that was a relief to hear, but I wouldn't want to call them an authourity.

yeah it was kind of funny... and it was favourite new band instead of new favourite band, like I said...

"All I Know Tonight" is great!
