In that case I must add Muse's Absolution album because, and I'll admit it, I just love Muse!

funny thing, i re-edited my list just yesterday and dropped their albumu out of top10.
come to think of it, it shouldn't have even gotten there in the first place, but oh well...

i have the deru album.
didn't listen to it much, though.
serious issues with attention span.

any ideas on how to cure the problem?

[i think the main cause was this mp3 file-sharing frenzy. that's why i stopped dl'ing stuff. but the problem stayed. bummer]

what does ikeda's album sound like? i've listened to his collaboration with alva noto (cyclo) and liked those buzzing, throbbing, residual sounds. and the album was damn groovy.

Deru is nice, the only cure there might be is to sit down and listen to it. It's the usual stuff you would expect from someone on the Neo Ouija label.

Actually, the Ryoji Ikeda album is probably the most surprising album of the year, by far in electronic music. With his experimentations of the past comes something of a classical album. 10 songs are broken up into 3 parts (for 9 strings, string quartet, and prototype). If you are interested in his early works such as +/- and Matrix, this one may interest you as well, but don't expect the past to come through on this one. Brilliant.

I really loved Supersilent 6, I hadn't heard anything from them before and didn't really think much of this album before I decided to just sit down and listen to it without doing anything else. Not suprisingly, I ended up really liking it When it was finished I looked at how long I had been listening to it and I couldn't believe it lasted that long cause I was "on the edge of my seat" practically the whole time!

"5" is another good one by them, you should check out "1-3" and "4" also...
