Arrow Jazz albums you're currently listening to...

There are enough of these type threads in the other forums, so I don't see why we shouldn't have one in the Jazz forum.

Right now I've been listening to Jaco Pastorius' eponymous debut album and I'm really loving it, particularly the track 'Okonkole y Trompa' -- I just can't get over that bass riff, it's unreal. Compositionally, it's almost like a form of acoustic jazz-trance. Incredible.

Anyway, that's mine, feel free to post whatever Jazz albums/tracks you're currently getting into.

Please keep this specific to Jazz music!

you listening to the re-issue or the original? there are two outtakes on the re-issue which makes it great! love that album, the best of his solo works...

it's weird because I've been listening to Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, and Eric Dolphy recently...

You too? I picked up Headhunters recently and I'm really loving that...as for Weather Repot, I picked up 4 of their albums 3 days ago. Mostly their early work, although given my newfound appreciation for Jaco Pastorius I may have to get the albums he recorded w/ them. And to answer your question, I did buy the re-issue w/ the two bonus tracks, and I must agree, 6/4 Jam does make a perfect closing piece for the album.

Reinhardt is an acquired taste and I can only listen to him when i'm in a certain mood, but he is a good one!

Well all jazz is very difficult to get into, but I actually found these two songs quite easy to enjoy...

well all the jazz stuff has failed to get a grip on me like some rock/alternative/post-rock/electronic albums/songs do...

some things are enjoyable, but... nothing more...
