How I wish I could've seen him live!

But I would have loved to have seen Evans/LaFaro/Motion live!!! LaFaro joined a long line of musicians that died too young and too soon. It had a major effect on Evans after that and added to his drug use, which eventually took it's toll.

Who wouldn't want to see the classic Village Vanguard group...but I would take anything at all! (I'd have been glad to have seen the Last Waltz/Consecration shows, for instance)

Jerome Cooper / Thomas Buckner - "Alone, Together, Apart"

Cecil Taylor for one. He is not a fan of Bill Evans.

How is this recording?

Well, just finished the first track and I'm enjoying it...the recording quality is excellent; nice airy percussion from Buckner that works well w/ Cooper's mantra-like vocal textures...there's nice variety and atmosphere here and it has its "fun" moments.

So, yeah...I like it so far, I'm sure the next 3 tracks will be just as good...

Really? That's surprising! But then again, they do occupy seemingly opposite ends of the Jazz spectrum, so I guess it's understandable...and Evans enjoys much more popularity than Taylor, which may have something to do w/ it...but I love 'em both.
