Talking (HeLp!)What hardware do i need to start my beat making ???

Hey everybodyyyy,

Im new to the music forum, and i signed up specifically to find out all the equipment i need to seriously get into the music buisness. People tell me I have a talent in this field, so i need to know what to start with. I dont want to go searching for things I dont need, so I figured this is my best bet.

Im familiar with all of the buttons, knobs etc.. so i dont need any beginners stuff..

I would really appreciate the help THANKS!

well first you need to decide what type of music your making. IE; R&B, Trance, Techno, Jungle, IDM. it all comes to that. whichever style you choose makes a difference on what your going to want to buy. also are you going to do this on computer or just with hardware. and the final question: are you going to do this live or just make a cd? i need to know the answers before myself or others can help you much.

Well I plan on making hip hop beats ( just like the neptunes ), but I'd like to mix some R&B in there. Secondly, I would rather use the Hardware more but Software I would definitely consider. I just rescently downloaded a demo of FL studio 4 to test it out and see if i should buy it; But its so limited that you cant really work with it.

I make techno and trance and I've found that the Korg electribes do this well when midi linked to a keyboard or other midi controller. I'm sure there might be alot better things than the electribes but I was strapped for cash.
