whatever happened to the good old gays when programers made effecient software that didn't eat up as much ram as possible. nowadays it seems like they just try to cram as many features into one program as possible. whether they are useful or not.

That's true. It's like what panbient was saying too...who needs fading between tracks...it's bloody annoying! I think I'll stick to winamp 2...it plays music, it's very stable, it's small in size and most importantly it's quick!

I don't need a player which looks good and can make floral toilet paper when all I want to do is listen to music...

Winamp 5 is horrible. Boot up my computer this morning to throw some tunes on while im getting ready for school, double click the winamp icon and 4 minutes later it decides to show up. Worst program ever.

I am still using Winamp 2.8 myself.

The only thing I need a player program to do is play MP3 files and stay out of my way. I run Winamp via the system tray and go about my business, either on or off the computer. It works well with my right-click, and will even go through shortcuts to get to the actual music (a neat feature I only recently found).

I never took to 3, and I doubt this new 5 would be what I want either. Why take a good thing and mire it under 1800 tons of bullshit?

My friend has Winamp 5 and it works perfectly fine. I still don't see why you'd need it if you had version 2 though.

Hello,

I like winamp 5 so far, although I hate upgrades usually I like the visualizations a lot better.

I second that, winamp 5 is nice, in classic mode.
