"perhaps gabbacore is to electronic as punk is to rock"
not necessarily.
for example, i wouldn't classify lesser as gabbacore, but he's as punk as ****.

yeah, it seems like most of the artists on tigerbeat6 have the punk-ish quality or is that just me?

nope, it's not you.
it is them.
just look at cex, his progress from this cute electronica guy to no. 1 entertainer/rapper in the world.
and i love them both.

i would have to disagree...Honestly, I can't stand the Cex album, the Being Ridden Instrumentals are ok, but it's just something I can't stand...I do like the quirky rapping of Otto Von Schirach a bit more, maybe because I'm an experimental type of guy...

my point was not the quality or something, but his attitude... which is punk.
sort of.
because old punks were disgusted by the idea of being the part of pop/mainstream world.
and he's quite the opposite, no?
[and, i like his electronic stuff a bit more, i confess. i have his 'role model', and there are some outstanding tracks there. seriously.]

here goes:
'at least i can say i tried'
'wall street kid'
'theme song to cex'
'rjyan kidwell's funeral'
these are on 'role model'. very nice tracks. especially 'theme song...'. that one is, like, whoa!
in an amateurish sort of way
this one is from 'starship galactica':
'your handwriting when you were a child in the winter'.
