Post Iron Maiden

I got tired of looking at that Metallica sticky at the top of the metal forum so I thought I would try to get an Iron Maiden thread going in hopes that one day, it too will be stickied . Afterall it seems there are more Maiden fans here at RM than there are Metallica fans. So this thread is for anything and everything Maiden. I recently saw them live and posted a sort of review in the thread "who is going to these shows" so check that out if you care. Other than that I'm looking forward to Iron Maiden's new album which comes out sept. 9, I believe. Anyone have any favorite songs or albums?

Their first 7 albums were by far their best. The box set is awesome too. I wish however they would re-do the first two albums with Dickinson on vocals. Di'Anno was a very capable vocalist but I think those songs would be much more powerful remastered.

are you including Live After Death or leaving out Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son? Brave New World was awesome too. Blood Brothers is in my top ten. I think Di'Anno shouldn't be forgotten though. In fact some fans prefer him over Dickinson.

I meant their first 7 studio albums. By the way do you have their new DVD? And if so...How is it?

Do you mean the Visions Of The Beast DVD, which includes all of their videos? Or Rock In Rio, the live performance they did in Rio in front of 250,000 people. I own Visions Of The Beast. It is rather interesting, because I haven't seen any of their music videos before. It is total old school!

I haven't bought Rock In Rio, I'm waiting for my home theater system before I buy it.

I personally don't like the cover. It looks too drastic a change from most of their other album covers. It looks all computer generated and stuff. It has been getting a lot of shit on the Iron Maiden boards but in the end I don't care as long as the music is good. Eddie as Death on it looks awesome though. If you took out all those naked people with masks, those midgets(?) and that wolf dog it would be a lot better. I guess it is supposed to represent hell or something and it is kinda freaking me out! Kind of like a circus from hell or something.

I think Live After Death and Somewhere In Time have the best artwork on their covers.

I do not even think the reaper looks like Eddie . What is most important is the music , which I know I will not be disappointed in !

it is hard to tell from that picture. Anyway I'm pretty sure it is not the same artist(s) that have done the other ones. I will try to find out.

this thread is now a sticky?

I have won.
