About their new CD; Im so ****ing excited, I remembered the first song my band played was losfer words with lyrics we wrote ourselfs. the (small) crowd went estatic and into a headbanging frenzy , it was ****ing awesome.

Im going to have to look around for my old iron maiden posters and get them back up again

Their new cd art is a letdown, but the other one doesnt look that bad. I'd rather have good music than anything else.

I just heard the cd art was supposed to look like shit. Its Maiden's way of showing that cover artwork means shit, kind of like various other things that are attached to music. It is all about making good music and I think they have succeeded in doing that again.

Yeah, I listened to some of the songs on their website, you can tell they are getting old- but still kicking ass and taking names.

Funny though, I remember hearing it being released Sep. 9th, but I cant find it at any of the stores.

Bleh...

Well I live in Juneau, its about 30,000. Much bigger than Petersburg, but still smaller than most places in the lower 48's.

BTW: Anyone else been to Alaska?

yeah I went to alaska, ****ing awesome place.

Went there in the summer when it was warm and sunny for like 22 hours of the day (man that messes your internal body clock up). Went and saw all the sites, but my favorite thing that I did there was fishing for big ass halibut.

I went to Alaska last summer. The weather didn't start out to well but we had a good time anyway. We made a tour with a rental car, starting and ending in Anchorage. I think we drove about 2500 miles. It's a great country.

Bought some nice CD's there as well...

Hey everyone new here, this forum is awesome nothing i love more than music especially metal. I myself am a drummer of 20 years. Love Iron Maiden over Metallica anyday. What i hate about Metallica is in the early 80s they said they`d never sell out, they`d always be playing hard fast metal. Well if you ask me they ****ing sold out, the last Metallica album...yes album i bought was and justice for all. After that they went with the times and sold out and lost me as a fan. Grant it, Megadeth doesnt sell the volume they do but thier still paying what they want, not what will sell. Incase you havent noticed im a BIG TIME Megadeth fan and anyone who knows metal knows Dave Mustaine helped Metallica get recognized in this industry. Anyways looking forward to talking thrash and whatever else, later.

These "Metallica sold out" discussions are REALLY old. Anyways, there is a thread named Metallica for stuff like this.

If you're making an album how will you know that it will sell more?

Why because he did a little bit of with them on Kill 'em All? Metallica was never famous for Kill 'em All. Ever think that maybe they got recognized for the music they made?

Helped out a little bit?? Kill em all didnt make them big??? heheheh you dont know shit do you. Dude kill em all is what made them big, get a grip. Thier new shit sux plain and simple. Whiplash is one of the songs that made them big and the four horsemen, anyone and everyone who knows thier history knows Dave wrote it even though Hetfield wont admit it. Metallica is a bunch of sellouts BECAUSE they know whats selling and thats the type of music they go with, are you or have you ever been apart of the industry? Doesnt sound like it. FYI Dave Started Metallica, Hetfield is from my home town Brea and my old high school Brea Olinda and hes a punk. Dave kicked his ass and thats why hes no longer in Metallica, cuz his butt buddy Lars was financially backing the band after him and Hetfield stepped in. Wake up. Hope theres more musically intelligent conversation in here than this. Know your facts before you try to back them up.

It was the stuff inbetween Kill 'em All and their new stuff that made them big. Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets (the biggest one), and And Justice for All is what made them really big. Can you seriously ask someone what was the first Metallica album they've ever heard and get an honest reply of Kill 'em All? I don't think so.

Tell me what else was popular around 1995 that sounds like Load or Reload.

I guess that means I don't have a valid opinion

Speak for yourself there buddy. I'm obviously a big Metallica fan. I've been to their sites alot and I've done my share of research.

Nothing better than keeping up a conversation with a diehard Megadeth fan when the best thing they can come up with is "Metallica are sell-outs!" Come on, you seriously expect everyone to agree with you?
