Imagine that you were given the ability to alter the programming of MTV's 'Total Request Live' for one episode. What videos would you choose to air?
(I'd prefer these to be examples that MTV would probably never consider playing under normal circumstances.)
Personally, I limit my exposure to the evil box to about 10 hours/year (and I sure as hell don't spend those 10 hours watching TRL) so I'm not really up to speed on what those Viacom *****es deem worthy of airplay these days. I'm assuming that my following selection wouldn't exactly fit into the current TRL culture. If I'm wrong, let me know.
My picks:
If I were to alter the programming of TRL for one episode, I would chose to air as much of The Residents' early video project 'Vileness Fats' as possible -- I'm sure that would be well-received by the average MTV viewer.

If the surreal dada-esque imagery doesn't turn them off...

...hopefully the music will...

...and if not that, I'm sure the average MTV viewer would be appalled at the idea of viewing music videos from the early '70s anyway.
Well, that's my pick. The fact that this video is rather long means I could only pick one, but feel free to list various videos that you'd like to see played on TRL.
Your turn:
h i like the idea, yah ive seen that one it kinda reminded me of lynch's 'eraserhead.' i would play the video to bastards of young, cuz, you know, its funny. i would proceed to showing the video to 'this charming man,' which is the gayest video ever. the i would have bukake porno or something
