MTV TRL Hijack

Here's the premise:
Imagine that you were given the ability to alter the programming of MTV's 'Total Request Live' for one episode. What videos would you choose to air?

(I'd prefer these to be examples that MTV would probably never consider playing under normal circumstances.)

Personally, I limit my exposure to the evil box to about 10 hours/year (and I sure as hell don't spend those 10 hours watching TRL) so I'm not really up to speed on what those Viacom *****es deem worthy of airplay these days. I'm assuming that my following selection wouldn't exactly fit into the current TRL culture. If I'm wrong, let me know.

My picks:

If I were to alter the programming of TRL for one episode, I would chose to air as much of The Residents' early video project 'Vileness Fats' as possible -- I'm sure that would be well-received by the average MTV viewer.

If the surreal dada-esque imagery doesn't turn them off...

...hopefully the music will...

...and if not that, I'm sure the average MTV viewer would be appalled at the idea of viewing music videos from the early '70s anyway.

Well, that's my pick. The fact that this video is rather long means I could only pick one, but feel free to list various videos that you'd like to see played on TRL.

Your turn:

Some really underground grunge.

Also i would skip that part where those really hip and cool teens give's a shout out to their "homies" back home. I always feel like killing somebody everytime they do that

I would play Primus' "wynona's big brown beaver" just because. I would have to play a Weird Al Yankovic video, cause, come on...who wouldn't like that(sarcastically), and any video that isn't from a mainstream band.

so i like the fact that i've never seen TRL on MTV... but if i got my way with an hours worth of music video programming i think i'd play these

for cool
red hot chili peppers - jungle man (uncensored)
fu manchu - tilt (it's about playing pinball on the kiss table hehehe)
squarepusher - come on my selector
beastie boys - sure shot (the version with b real from cypress hill)
primus - southbound pachyderm

for shock
amon tobin - 4 ton mantis (the two guys who kiss in the middle might offend a lot of people)

for personal enjoyment
luscious jackson - naked eye
jaga jazzist - animal chin (i love the part where the band first starts running as a group hehehe)

and lastly i would play the snargle bargle 'extravaganza' (for lack of a better term in my brain at this hour) this video is SO indie that only people i know have seen it hehehehe

I'm not sure what is on TRL now adays. I haven't seen it in months.
hmm, I think maybe I would play some japanese music that I have. some rock (5.6.7.8's, Pillows) and some random jazzier stuff (the seatbelts).

"Viġrar Vel Til Loftárasa" - Sigur Ros, good music and the clip might shock some people...
"Roses" - dEUS, very good videoclip
"Windowlicker" - Aphex Twin, not my kind of music, but I like the videoclip
"Stinkfist"- Tool
a live GYBE! or Mogwai piece, maybe

seba, cool video from The Residents, very interesting. kinda reminds me of The Carbinet of Dr Caligari or something along the line.

Orpheus, Viġrar Vel Til Loftárasa is the video with the two boys right? I love that video!

Aphex Twins' windowlicker, uncensored version, of course!

then, Happiness in Slavery videos, uncensored versions.

oh, that Rammstein video with the lead singer ejaculating.

Find Candance video, this is gonna shock the average MTV viewers with missing kids being murder

if that doesn't work, just play any live footage of GWAR's concert then GG Allan and the murder Junkies live footage with GG Allan taking and eating poop on stage and rolling around on it.
