350$ for really good earbuds? Honestly though, for me to buy something like that, they'd better be coated in gold...and make me fly.

yours last 2 years and you complain? Mine last about 3 months. Now they are the shit. Although mine are used almost non stop.

i got 35€ sony earbuds with ultra bass extension, they work really great, really nice sound, massive and full of bass like i love

but they are not yellow... maybe with some bucket of paint you can make them yellow

anyway, I just ordered a pair of sony MDR7506. it was between sony MDR7506 or sennheir HD25SP. they are almost the same price. it took me couple of days to decide which pair.

I picked sony MDR7506 because they are supposed to have very good low end and mid range, very durable, and collapsable for travelling. hope they will be as good as other people claimed.

edit: I am getting a pair of headphone for music production and need a pair of good headphone that can isolate my ears from other cellphone whores' conversations in public transportation. many times, I want to break those cellphone whores' nose with my knees or tear off their ears with my bare hands.

I got myself some Shure E3s ($156 I think) about 6 months ago and they are one of the best things I've ever bought myself.. Before I was using some Sennheiser HD497s (like $70) which are a good value,.. but now I hate listening to any headphones other than the Shure's just because anything else of mine sounds like crap in comparison (yes, the 497s too, depending on how much outside noise there is.. I went on a trip with my friend a week ago,.. someone stole my car stereo so I took my Ipod and a y-splitter,.. I put in my shures and gave my buddy the 497s, and turned on the music, and he was like "is it on? I can barely hear it",.. well of course the two pairs have different impedences, but when I took the 497s and put them on and turned the volume up to a good level,.. they sounded like garbage. I felt kind of bad for making my friend use them! now,.. most of the sound quality difference in the car was due to the outside noise and the fact that the shure's block most of it out)

If you like listening to music you should get yourself some good headphones!

I was considering shure E3 at first but they were a bit out of my price range. and I didnt' believe a pair of shure could block out so much outside noise anyway! just look at them they don't look like they can block out anything.

so last friday, I was riding a train after work as usual. but I was taking a different line this time. I walked in the train and this guy behind me tapped my shoulder. he pointed his finger to his headphone and gave it a big thumbs up. and I noticed it was the same as mine, sony MDR7506. so I smiled and gave him a thumbs up back. after a few stops, another guy walked in the train and he had the same exact headphone as us. so we started talking, yeah, freaking weird if you ask me. so we started telling each other how long we have had the headphones and why we got it. another stop, the second guy left. and the first guy wondered if I was a sound engineer. I said no, I wasn't. the first guy's girl friend had a pair of senneheiser but she said it was not as comfortable as MDR7506.

so the moral of the story is a pair of MDR7506 can bring strangers together
