i'm having a load of difficulty trying to get midi running into a Yamaha SY85 (http://www.yamaha.com/ycaservice/mp4model/sy85.htm)
from a KORG MS2000r.
(anywhere on ebay for around 415 us to 500.)
i want to be able to get the sounds banked into the SY85 while still being able to modulate the sounds and whatnot using the MS2000r analog system, but have the functionality of the full key synth. also curious if the vocoder will respond using the sy85 just as the keys.
so basically....i just want to hook up the SY85 for the full keys into the MS2000r. cause god damn, i love my little analog baby.
and the virtual analog is equally as cool. so much memory.....droool.

i'm just going to bump this thread back to the top because it would make jam time so much better if we could get the midi stuff working properly...

cause damn...i just don't know how to use midi.

pretty close...i'm tryin modulate the sounds of the ms2000r while the sound or mod midi bank is input into the sy85. so...i might be able to use the vocoder function on the 2000r on the sy85...in other words i want to be able to use full keys instead of the rack mount buttons that are provided on the ms.

but any help explaining midi to myself and possibly others would help...cause i can't wrap my head around it.
