I totally don't see any relation to Coldplay. They're much lighter than Elbow. I think the closest relation to Elbow is the Doves. I think Asleep In The Back was a really good album with a good amount of diversity. All Music Guide gave Cast of Thousands an even higher rating than Asleep In The Back so I bought the album without listening to a single track. I've only listened to it one through but nothing caught my ear. I really do think that they were trying to emulate the Doves and maybe a little Badly Drawn Boy on that album. For those that like both albums which tracks would I probably like from Cast of Thousands?

I kinda avoided Elbow for ages. I'm a huge Doves fan and foolishly expected Elbow to be a second -rate Doves wannabe band. I eventualy bought A Cast of THousands and was absolutely blown away by it. Without doubt my favourite album of last year. I've since bought the first album and I have to say, it hasn't had the same immediate impact. Perhaps it just needs more time.

the accent of icelandic words falls in almost all cases on the first syllable. the exceptions are
1.words that have the negative prefix "ó-" meaning "un-" as in "unwilling" eg óhreinindi
2.words that have the prefix "all-" meaning "rather" or "very" eg allfeginn
in these two cases, the accent falls equally on the first two syllables or mainly on the second syllable.
