FruityLoops setups??

Hello, I have an ibook and Mbox at the moment, but after using FruityLoops on a friends desktop, I want to be Mac/PC from now on.
Only problem is, I am not well versed in PC setups so I need to know what FruityLoops realistically needs.

I'll be getting a laptop, so what soundcard/dongle etc. is needed?
I'd love to quickly get a Dell Inspiron 8600 or something, so would any changes need to be made, or install software and run?
How high-spec does it need to be to handle many of the free plugs on the net?

This would be a pure low(er) budget fun toy on the side, so if anyone has gone a similar route, I'd love to hear from you...

My friend just got an old celeron 333 laptop with 64mb of ram and I'm certain he said he runs Fruityloops off it (although pretty slowly) so anything better than that will work fine! I know for sure he has Reason working on it anyway.

Yeah, Melbourne too, near Frankston. Chopper Read said once that Baby John had a glass eye, 'cause he got rolled outside Mentone Bowl about 40 years ago, and someone bashed him senseless. How would old Chop-Chop know that then...

I don't have much else to say but I found that pretty funny! I don't think Burgo has a glass eye though...it wouldn't move if it was glass and you'd pick it a mile away.
