the beastie boys

thoughts and opinions on this group...

personally i think they rock the way the go from punk to rap to funk to whatever else they feel like playing... although the way they take a few years between releasing albums is kinda crappy...

keep an eye open for a copy of 'the in sound from way out' if you don't already have it... it's all the instrumentals from paul's boutique and check your head... for when you're feeling funky hehehe...

My friend has it, it's good but doesn't have any recent ones. I love "Song for Jr." off Hello Nasty. Ill Communication also has some great funk/instrumental tracks, and of course,
"Sabotage".

true... but for me i still say check your head is their best album... with hello nasty as a close 2nd... and if you dig the characters from the sabotage video (and who didn't...) you should really look into the dvd... the talk show segment is hilarious...

The Beasties would have to be my favourite band going around. It's been a while since Hello Nasty was released (1999?) so their new album must be due rather soon - can't wait!

And what are you talking about (Unregistered Guest) saying they aren't good lyricists! Their lyrics are a little strange but they're funny and suit the songs.

I love all their albums and I think it's good how they can play their own intruments. For me, Ill communication is their best album to date altough their other albums aren't that far away!

I have Aglio E Olio, Licenced To Ill, Paul's Boutique, Check Your Head, Ill Communication, The in Sound From Way Out! and Hello Nasty and they are all really good and I could play them non-stop for days.

The Beastie Boys rule for sure - I love how they dig into such a wide range of musical styles. A new album always has tons of surprises. Who would have though what would become of them when they first released "Licenced to Ill"?

Plus their vids kick ass...

I love their videos too!

How good is "Fight For Your Right"! That's one of the funniest video clips I've seen!

"Do you like parties?"
"Yeah."
"We can invite all our friends and have soda and pie!"
"Yeah!"
"I hope no bad people show up."
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!"
