I think someone described them before as "Quite possibly the cleverest dumb band ever".

The Beastie Boys are my heros. Them and a few others.

Not good lyricists?!?!?! Come on!!

"We got determination, bass and highs.
White Castle Fries only come in one size."

It doesn't get much better then that!

We should start a "Name that Song Game". What beastie boys song is this rhyme from?

Well this is not new news but it's about their new song, "In A World Gone Mad...":
Quote:
"We felt it was important to comment on where the US appears to be heading now. A war in Iraq will not resolve our problems. It can only result in the deaths of many innocent civilians and US troops. If we are truly striving for safety, we need to build friendships, not try to bully the rest of the world."
- Adam Yauch

"Being together, writing and recording, we felt it would be irresponsible not to address what’s going on in the world while the events are still current. It didn’t make sense to us to wait until the entire record was finished to release this song."
- Mike D

"This song is not an anti-American or pro-Saddam Hussein statement. This is a statement against an unjustified war."
- Adam Horovitz
(You can download this song and get the lyrics on their web site)

i still 'something's got to give' was a better anti-war statement than their new song...

I don't really like either of those albums. Well, not compared to the rest of them.

I agree with everything everyone else said. Their ways of bouncing around different music styles-- going from funk, to rock, to hip-hoppish makes them excellent musicians. MR2- Brass Monkey IS the song that get on my nerves to most!
