Suggestions needed: Looking for simple, funky jazz

Greetings! This is my first post...

Looks like I finally found a good forum to expand my musical horizon

Anyway, I am hoping that some of you might be able to recommend some music to me. Here's what I am looking for:

-A simple formation (perhaps trio or quartet)
-Drums / organ / bass / guitar
( some instruments I tend to like )
-Instrumental music (not a must)
-its gotta be feel-good funky stuff!

Things I have listened to in the past that I liked:

Charlie Hunter
John Scofield
Joey Baron
The Philadelphia Experiment

Hope that helps you get a better idea of what I am looking for.
So...Let the suggestions roll in.........................

Well, I just picked up Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters and it is definately one funky piece of music!

Don't know if that helps, but it's a start. You might also consider Version Soul by Spaceways Incorporated, they use some really nice funk-inspired licks throughout...
