i love tri repetae. it was cool: first time i heard it i realized that autechre's music were not going to be "beautiful" anymore.

actually i thought it was autechre's break through album until:

1) i realize garbage and anvil vapre were released before

2) i hear cichlisuite

i think cichlisuite was the turning point in therms of experimentation and sound design research.

actually there are few ae albums that i am not a big fan of: maybe the basscadet single and the anti ep.

i love the basscadet single and anti ep both, but that's just me...

I like Envane a lot too, and "777" is one of my favorite songs by them...other than Vletrmx

This is pretty difficult...I want to say Tri Repetae++...I want to say LP5...I want to say EP7...

...but I'm probably going to go w/ Tri Repetae++, if only because of some sort of historical importance.

does anyone care for Chiastic Slide? I listen to it on occasion, I think that is one of their "forgotten albums"

Chiastic Slide is actually my favourite. It's certainly not forgotten in my house.

I'm still getting myself round Draft7.30 and it's still growing on me, so we'll see.

chiastic slide and envane are two of a kind, really different from what they were doing before; very different from what they would do after. somehow very hip hop and still very melodic.

i love both and some of my favorite autechre songs are featured on this two great albums -great art work for the cover as well-.

1)
incunabula
amber
garbage
anvil vapre
tri repetae
peel session

2)
envane
chiastic slide

3)
cichlisuite
autechre
ep7
peel session 2
confield
grantz graf
draft 7;30

I would call the "Confield", "Gantz Graf", and "Draft 7.30" another period, but that's me...also, wouldn't Anti EP, go in your first period?
