pickups

I was wondering...for a single coil/humbucker guitar, such as a Fender Jag-Stang, what would be some good pickups to upgrade to? I know there is dimarzio and seymour duncan, but which models, and what other kinds of good pickups are there?

I'm not too impressed with the sound of my Les Paul Special in live situations.

Pretty sure it came with stock P100 pickups (humbucking).

I'm going to put in new Seymour Duncan SP90-2's (single coil).

They have the vintage soapbars, too. Hard for me to pass up the higher output, though.

Seymour Duncan Antiquity's dude, for that true vintage tone. Perhaps even Suhr pickups, I'm not sure if they make them for jags though.

Maybe one of each? I don't know.

Okay. Decided to plop two Lollar "P-90 (TM) Soap Bar Style Pickup" in my LPS. I'll let you know what I think after they're installed.

The P-100s sound okay when I'm at home playing around, but in a band, it just sounds dull and doesn't really cut through all that well. At least when I play clean.
