When you were writing this... didnt you get that feeling like: "gee, I really have no idea what Im talking about here." ? Next time you should heed that feeling. Because everyone else can see what you know, and if you're talking out of your ass about certain artists.

Dont be such a wimpy mcfartelby. How dare he call a spade a spade and tell Bonnie that she made a stupid comment about an artist that she obviously knows very little about. How DARE.

DING! DING! DING! You got that right. Awful lists from the majority of people on here. So little deference to the history, or respect. I'll give you all a little hint: best rapper category includes no artist that came out in the last 3 years. Period.
You heard Canibus' last release? I heard he boffed it on production, but I havn't listened to it personally yet.

halcyon is I don't like an artist, it's my right. I've heard stuff of him and I don't like it, I cannot pretend I like him because every one says he's a great artist.

The difference between I dont like him, vs. hes not that great, is huge. Plus you havn't even heard fucking Illmatic, so you are obviously unable to form any sort of educated opinion on the subject. It'd be like saying "I saw a photo of picasso's ceramics once... hes not that great of a painter" -- stupid. Dont do it.
And dont try to cop out of your ill-informed judgment by saying: "its my opinion", as if having an opinion in and of itself somehow makes you qualified to judge. The fact that you havn't heard Illmatic, and likely havn't heard It Was Written, means that your opinion on the matter is worthless. Just like the picasso/ceramics opinion is worthless. Unless you have sufficient prior knowledge to be able to judge an artist, the opinion itself is worthless.
Whats funny is that instead of wondering WHY everyone says he is such a great artist, and then going out and investigating his discography... you listen to a few songs on the radio and miraculously come to the conclusion that - they are wrong - and your taste is superior. Nas is, in fact, a great artist.

I said Nas is not that great, I haven't said Nas is not good at all. And I've heard alot of his song because my brother have downloaded almost all of them once and was only playing that. I decided that I didn't like him after deleting some songs on my computer to make some room. I listened to some and it was really wasting space, so I deleted all of his songs. There are much more greater artists than him, and most of them aren't the ones we think about when we're thinking about rap.

In my eyes theres two Nas's. I'm not really sure where the first ended and the second started, but it defintley happened somewhere. Illmatic is legendary, It was written is a classic also. Judging by the Nas songs you've probably heard Bonnie I'd hate him also. Songs like 'One Mic' and 'I know I can' are sad efforts for a falling rap legend. He's relying on cheap gimmicks to pull his now crumbling career together instead of just leaving his career at a highpoint.
But like I said before, listen to Illmatic.
Halycon I agree with a bunch of the stuff that you were saying but no need to get so worked up about it. This rap section is pretty funny most of the time and you really just have to sit back and laugh it, I've discovered theres no point in fighting most of the arguements. But Bonnie? She's not one of the idiots.
